In 2006 the State Services Commission published the findings from qualitative research in the community of Rotorua. The research told a story about how accessible State agencies are, from the point of view of New Zealanders, State Services agencies and intermediaries. This year SSC has undertaken qualitative research in Waitakere, Christchurch and Taranaki. It involved multiple interviews across a wide range of State servants and intermediaries (those who help others to access services). This research built on the success of the method used in Rotorua last year, and is part of the New Zealanders' Experience Research Programme.
