33 The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) was unable to supply data for this year's survey. Last year's figures for the SFO (covering 37 staff) have been included in the overall employment totals only (shown in Appendices 1 and 2). As a result, the totals in other parts of the report will differ from the totals in these appendices. Figures for Statistics NZ staff show a drop in employment of 118 FTE staff. This is mostly due to the exclusion of field interviewers who work on an as-required basis, and who have been included in previous surveys. Staff who are employed on a casual, or as-required, basis are excluded from all parts of the survey.
34 Since the last survey (as at 30 June 1999) the only major machinery of government change in the Public Service affecting the data was the split of the Department of Social Welfare into the Ministry of Social Policy and the Department of Child, Youth and Family Services.
