On Wednesday 29 March, the first Public Service Leaders Summit is being held at TSB Arena in Wellington.
This event is bringing together 650 senior leaders of government agencies as a group for the first time ever.
This is an opportunity for me as incoming State Services Commissioner to talk to the senior leaders of the Public Service together. I will be setting out my expectations of them as Public Servants and leaders, and discussing how we are going to work together as a team.
The senior leaders at the Summit are responsible for delivering public services to New Zealanders. This group includes leaders from agency head offices in Wellington, and critically, the leaders of regional front line operations from around the country.
The Public Service is working hard to change how we work so we can provide better services to New Zealanders. This means organising ourselves around the needs of New Zealanders and working together across agency boundaries.
This is a group who are critical to improving the public services New Zealanders receive. It is important they can come together to learn what is needed of them and gain a better understanding of the changes they need to drive through their organisations.
