Over the next three years, this critical work for the State Services will be advanced through partnerships between SSC, chief executives and their agencies, and the Leadership Development Centre.

The State Sector Amendment Act (2013) gives us permission and new tools to pool resources and work collectively across agency boundaries to achieve outstanding results.

It's likely that we'll also work with partners in the private sector and NGOs to arrange exchanges and development opportunities for State Services leaders at all levels.

We will build on the best of existing leadership development initiatives and practices - looking at what already works well.

The new approach to developing leaders integrates with other important SSC work to lift the performance of the State Services, including our Performance Improvement Framework, and is part of wider State Services transformation.
