The new approach to leadership and capability development and deployment for the State Services includes:

  • a State Services-wide approach to graduate recruitment and development, building on the best existing programmes

  • a State Services-wide approach to identifying and developing emerging leaders, in collaboration with agencies

  • continuation and enhancement of the current senior leaders development programme

  • a succession planning system for all senior leadership roles and key positions, supported by a management information system that captures the experience, skills and competencies of high potential leaders consistently across agencies

  • an increased focus on growing the capability of the State Services, increasing functional skills and areas of expertise that are fundamental to delivering results.
