In 2015 the Ombudsman conducted an in-depth investigation into how agencies were managing and responding to Official Information Act requests. This involved 12 selected agencies including the State Services Commission.
The report, Not a Game of Hide and Seek, concluded that while the Ombudsman found the 12 agencies were compliant in the way they operated the OIA on a daily basis, that there were five areas that needed improvement.
The Ombudsman has announced that his office will run a follow up investigation into progress made since the 2015 report.
