The agency has responsibility for developing and implementing the action plan.
The action plan is agreed during the central agency chief executive moderation meeting, in consultation with the agency chief executive and lead assessors.
Once an action plan is agreed, the central agencies play two roles:
- Monitoring the agency's progress on its action plan
- Providing technical expertise to help agencies implement their action plan if required.
Action plans are monitored as part of the regular interaction that the central agencies have with the agency. However, it includes a formal report by the agency to the central agencies every six months on progress against the action plans. This report will be reviewed by the central agency chief executives and may include a meeting with the agency chief executive to discuss progress.
